Program Overview
The goal of this programme is to understand the mechanisms of change and above all to use this understanding to succeed in managing change.
Change is constant; in fact it is the only thing that we can be sure of. We change our organization, we change our IT tools and systems, change our customers, change our products and we change our business practices.
Change has become constant both in companies and also in society. Change is no longer a cyclical phenomenon that happens once in a while.
Previously change was something that was entrusted to consultants outside the company.
They were asked to come and resolve the problem and once the problem was resolved, they left. Change has now become permanent and omnipresent, meaning that it is necessary for companies to have day-to-day skills to manage change.
Our goal is to develop the capacity to enable employees to be more comfortable with change, so that they can accommodate change more easily and so that they are not afraid of change. And above all realise that change allows them to build the outcome that they desire.
Change is a corporate reality. It cannot be ignored nor avoided
The company and its employees must take account of change and integrate it into everyday practices.
Knowing how to change, how to change quickly, how to change permanently is a competitive advantage for a company. It will allow you to take market share, to be more innovative, but also to be more efficient as a whole. Change becomes a key factor in a company’s performance. For this, this program provides a number of lessons for understanding and methods of deploying change in business.
We will review some great authors such as Lewin, Kotter, Kanter who give us keys to understanding and mastering change.
We aim to deal with the conduct of change by deploying Agile methodologies. This method, which has been the subject of recent publications, provides tools for rapidly and sustainably transforming an organization. Classical instrumental and managerial methods are sometimes deemed to be bureaucratic and unresponsive.
To avoid these pitfalls, Agile methodologies provide participatory workshops that will put the employee at the heart of achieving change.
1- Understand the fundamentals of managing change by identifying the levels of change, the misconceptions about change and the importance and benefits of change, as well as recognize the behaviors and traits of a change leader, and the role of resilience during change.
2- Identify the steps of a change process, analyze a change situation, choose an action while avoiding risks, create a sense of urgency, set goals, motivate employees, prevent failure, and monitor the progress of a change.
3- Identify the obstacles to change including resistance and negative reactions to change, empower employees, and ease the tension caused by a change, as well as identify the causes of complacency and understand the effect of crisis during change.
4- Begin managing change by encouraging creativity and commitment to change in employees, using effective communication and listening skills, and controlling the grapevine.
5- Recognize the truths and misconceptions about change, differentiate between change and transition, identify the factors that affect the response to change, recognize the styles of response, and identify the strategies to manage the endings phase.
6- Identify the emotions, responses, and needs experienced during the exploration phase, and the strategies to manage the exploration phase.
7- Identify the information required during and the common responses to the new beginnings phase, as well as strategies to manage the new beginnings phase.
